2009 was a year of transition for me, I moved back to Boston after living in Washingtion, DC for 2.5 years. I took A LOT of photos when I was in DC, I was pretty much acting like a tourist everyday. I took this photo in the Tivoli North/Columbia Heights area in DC, which is was one of the "up-and-coming" neighborhoods in DC.

I selected this particular photo as one of my favorite shots throughout 2009, because I just love the colors on the row houses against the clear blue sky.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Boston.com is holding a photo contest with the theme: Pink. I am really excited about that Boston.com chose this appropriate theme and dedicate for breast cancer awareness.

BTW - 2009 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Boston, MA is on this Sunday, October 4, 2009.

I selected this photo of a pink rose from the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Garden in DC. The Hillwood is a hidden jewel in DC and probably one of my favorite museum in DC. It is a bit off-beaten-path, locates around the Van Ness area in DC.

I think of the Hillwood in two parts, the mansion/museum that was once owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post which contains her personal extensive Russian art collection and other. The second part is the outdoor area that consists an amazing Japanese garden, rose garden and indoor green house.

You should definitely check it out if you had enough of the Smithsonian.

Artomatic 2007, Arlington, VA - 04/13/07-05/20/07

Welcome to my first post here!

This is very exciting. I am one of the participants in Artomatic 2007.

Artomatic, the Washington, D.C., area’s eclectic, engaging — and occasionally even eye-popping — arts extravaganza is back this spring and promises to be more of a draw than ever before.

Held regularly since 1999, Artomatic is the region’s one-of-a-kind multimedia art featuring more than 600 regional artists and performers. The free five-week event, to be held April 13–May 20, will feature nearly 90,000 square feet of paintings, sculptures, photography and other creative work.
